A man who fly-tipped waste in an area of Newark has been fined nearly £2,500 after being arrested in Cambridgeshire and brought back to Nottinghamshire. Florin Tudor, 29, was initially fined £510 in August for failing to attend a formal interview about the fly-tipping of waste in Halam.

Tudor claimed that he had paid a third party to dispose of his waste. However, he pleaded guilty to duty of care under an environmental law which requires people to take all steps to make sure their waste is disposed of legally.Councillor Roger Jackson, of Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: "We are committed to creating a cleaner, safer, and greener district for all to be proud of.
