The leader of Perth and Kinross Council has described the proposal to close Methven Surgery as "deeply unwelcome".
A motion calling for action is being tabled at a meeting of all 40 councillors on Wednesday, August 30. Due to ongoing recruitment challenges and concerns about the suitability of the branch surgery Victoria Practice has proposed to revert to this arrangement and close its Methven Surgery on a permanent basis - transferring all services to its practice in Perth.
