The council faces a bill of up to £75 million for a second primary school
chiefs have been warned they have a “huge job” on their hands as they review the condition of school buildings in Renfrewshire.
Councillor Gillian Graham, a Labour education spokesperson, believes clear messaging is needed around thisto restore confidence after the high-profile capacity blunder and damning findings of an investigation into how it happened. The task won’t be made any easier by the recent revelation that the local authority needs to make savings of around £35m in the next three years amid a wider cash crisis.
She will be supported by Tracy McGillivray in her existing role as head of education for inclusion and quality improvement and Gerry Lyons, a former head teacher and education head of service at Glasgow City Council.
