LATEST: It follows a police raid in October last year on the council's headquarters in Ballymena
The chief executive of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has been referred to prosecutors in a police investigation into suspected misconduct in public office.
A solicitor for Ms Donaghy said his client has been subjected to "systemic victimisation" and expressed confidence she will be "exonerated". The council was embroiled in controversy following a contentious decision last year to withdraw staff conducting Brexit-related checks from Larne Port over alleged security fears.
Ms Donaghy's solicitor was asked if she had been informed of whether she is one of the four individuals referred to the PPS. "Importantly PSNI helpfully agreed to examine very serious counter allegations against a large number of other council members and other personnel. "We are confident that our client who has been subjected to systemic victimisation will be exonerated.
