The refuse workers are striking after refusing a flat rate pay increase of £1,925
Warrington Council has apologised to residents and warned their bins won't be emptied for nearly two weeks.
Warrington Council said on October 5: "Unfortunately, due to the scale of disruption caused by industrial action, we will not be able to empty bins until after the strike finishes on Monday 16 October. We are very sorry about the inconvenience caused by the industrial action for our residents and businesses.
The refuse collectors, members of Unite the Union, rejected the play officer because "the offer is below the rate of inflation and amounts to a real terms pay cut". Sharon Graham, Unite general secretary, said: "Our members play an essential role keeping their community clean.
