The Steve McDonald star paid tribute to his 'beautiful' wife on Friday
Simon's cobbles alter-ego Steve McDonald has been at the centre of some of the soap's most dramatic storylines and has been married a whopping seven times to five different women.
Thankfully in real life Simon's love life is much calmer. The 48-year-old has been married to former Hollyoaks star Emma Gleave since 2010.The two are said to have been introduced by Simon's on-screen mum, Liz McDonald actress Beverley Callard. Emma has since taken a step back from acting and now runs her own café, which is so popular it often has queues outside.
The happy couple shares three sons together - Alfie, 16, Henry, 12, and six-year-old Teddy. On Friday, Simon shared a photo of himself and Emma on Instagram to mark her birthday. Instagram He said: "Happy birthday my beautiful wife xxxx". Former Corrie actress Angela Lonsdale said: "Awe happy happy birthday Em @emmagleavage see you both tomorrow", and fans have also wished her well in the comments section.
