The latest coronavirus R number was released as the Government prepares to end the last remaining legal lockdown restrictions in England on July 19, so-called 'Freedom Day'
The coronavirus reproduction number in England has increased slightly and is now between 1.2 and 1.5, according to the latest Government figures.Regionally, the R number is as high as 1.6 in North East and Yorkshire, the South East and the South West.An R value between 1.2 and 1.5 means that, on average, every 10 people infected will infect between 12 and 15 other people.
