COPS have launched an urgent probe after priceless British Museum artefacts were found to be "missing, stolen or damaged".said that a worker has been sacked after a number of items in its collection were found have picked up damage or disappeared.cops are now investigating the case.Hartwig Fischer, director of the British Museum, said: "This is a highly unusual incident.
"I know I speak for all colleagues when I say that we take the safeguarding of all the items in our care extremely seriously.
