Earlier, we brought you reports from Reuters news agency that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had pulled out of the climate summit at the last minute.

The Duke of Cambridge used his official Twitter account to hail the climate summit as a"landmark moment". Unlike the pessimistic sentiment we've heard from other UK leaders this morning, the royal said he is"hopeful" about what COP26 can achieve.The US president's plane has landed and he is heading for COP26.The Amazon founder will be joining Prince Charles and French President Emmanuel Macron for a Great Green Wall Africa event.

It comes after Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the conference would"inevitably" raise the risk of COVID transmission.The Russian president will not be addressing the climate summit live, after already confirming he would not be attending in person."It is impossible to join in Glasgow through a video conference," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
