Latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper's Reds prepare for Premier League clash against Manchester United
The Brazilian has not been involved in the Reds’ opening two games, having barely trained since the players reported back for duty in the summer. He has now been out on the grass, but head coach Steve Cooper says he is not yet ready to feature.
“I don’t want to speak too soon - because we know how it’s been in the past year or so - but we’re in a fairly healthy position,” Cooper said of the club’s injury situation. “There are still a lot of lads returning to full fitness. But let’s not say too much, because we know how things go when you talk too much about things like that. It gives us a thriving training group and selection decisions for games.”
Giulian Biancone recently got minutes for the B team as Forest continue to tread carefully following his ACL injury. Wayne Hennessey remains absent and Omar Richards looks set to join Olympiacos on loan as he hopes for a change of injury fortunes.
