On Wednesday, McGregor suggested he had already been granted an exception, he tweeted: “I am clear for testing in February. I will complete my two tests per USADA and we are booking a fight.” However, that is not the case according to USADA’s director of communications Averi Walker who doesn’t believe ‘Mystic Mac’ is eligible for an exception.
“[Conor] McGregor is not enrolled in our testing pool and would have to be for six months unless an exception is granted, which we do not think would be applicable,” he toldThe UFC is yet to officially comment on McGregor’s drug test status and they ultimately have the final say on how many tests their biggest star will take before his return.
