'There’s no bus service'

People living in a 'nice and quiet' Nottinghamshire village have welcomed plans to create more than 120 homes in their community. But concerns have been raised over whether Teversal, near Sutton-in-Ashfield, has the infrastructure to cope with the 124 new properties.

The plans show vehicle access to the development would be from Fackley Road and Crompton Street. As well as this, the plans show several pedestrian and cyclist connections.Sian Barlow, 30, said that the new developments means needing new facilities in the area. The history student said: “We need new homes, it’s a bit of a concern when we can barely get in the doctors or dentist. They need to facilitate these people, that's the issue I have.

He added: “Instead of putting houses, why not multi-storey? Flats, I know you’d get an influx of people but it’s not using as much land. I don’t mind building but there are plenty of places to build that’s not green belt. “ Next to this proposed site is a brand new housing development by Harron Homes, on Brand Lane. With some already built the development is set to have 171 homes, and locals wondered when the building is ‘going to stop’ .
