A community is in shock
The Clifton community is in shock after a tragic flat fire has resulted in the deaths of two children. Emergency services were called to Fairisle Close, Clifton on Sunday, November 20, at around 3:17am following reports of a fire.
A murder investigation is now underway, after a joint fire and police investigation concluded that the fire was started deliberately. Councillor for Clifton East, Kevin Clarke, has described the tragic incident as a "shock."He said: "If it's what they say it is and it's arson then its absolutely unbelievable. It's terrible, I'm lost for words really.
Following the news of the fatal fire, Nottingham City Council leader, David Mellen, said: “I am so saddened to hear this tragic news. The loss of two young children is completely heartbreaking.
