The coastguard took to social media to post a safety message asking people to be aware of the fast-flowing tides on the Fylde Coast
A safety warning has been issued by HM Coastguard Fleetwood after a group of children were saved from a potentially dangerous situation yesterday .The message is targeted at schools and colleagues to make their students aware of the dangers of becoming easily cut off.A spokesperson for the team said: "Let's see how the power of Facebook can spread an important safety message.
"With your help sharing this message, we hope to let all schools and colleges know about the fast flooding tides on the Fylde Coast, and how easily anyone can get cut off. "We've had reports of a couple of coach loads of kids on the beach at Cleveleys yesterday being warned of the dangers of the incoming tide. Members of the public averted an embarrassing, and potentially dangerous, situation by walking out to the group and pointing out the approaching water.
"No names, no shaming or blaming. Just asking all groups to come and enjoy our fabulous beaches but be aware of the tide times and dangers."
