The Manchester City legend says he plans to return to the Etihad next year - but not before handing out a few bottles of wine.
David Silva is one of three former Manchester City players to have a statue outside of the Etihad Stadium, and became the final of the trio to retire.
But the 37-year-old has pivoted away from the game upon retirement and ventured into a new industry - winemaking. The Mirror says Silva is focusing his attention on his winery in Gran Canaria. His wine has been a roaring success and is exported all over the world with the help of experienced winemaker Jonatan Garcia, whom he met over Twitter after initially thinking he was a spammer.
Silva said retiring this summer was not in the plan and misses former club Manchester City, although is content with how his trophy-laden career panned out. He plans to pay a visit back to the Etihad in the new year but is currently preparing to undergo rehabilitation on his knee injury later this month.
