The 45-year-old singer, who shot to fame after appearing in the ninth series of X Factor, shared a poignant update on Tuesday. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he said: "So today my world has fallen apart...
"At 8am this morning my beautiful Dad has suddenly passed away at home. I am totally devastated and broken-hearted beyond any words. Thank you in advance for any well wishes or messages and I will now be taking a social media break."Love you Dad with all of my heart. REST IN PEACE xx". Fans have sent their condolences, as Kirsty said: "I'm so so sorry Chris! May he rest in peace" and Billy said: "Very sorry to hear of his passing. Prayers for peace to you and your family during this difficult time."
Douglas added: "So sorry to hear this Chris sending love to you and the family at this very sad time". Since finishing third in X Factor, Christopher has had stints in Celebrity Big Brother, as well as numerous pantomimes. He also describes himself as a columnist, author and presenter.
