Chris Evans told listeners on Monday that he was diagnosed with skin cancer but added that it was caught in the very early stages.
Chris Evans admits that he wasn't concerned when his masseuse pointed out a mark on his skin as he is a redhead 'covered in freckles'.
He told his listeners on Monday: "We need to discuss what's going on with this issue. It is melanoma. There's this phrase called a malignant melanoma - you know once you get something and you find out all about it - that is a redundant phrase because if it is a melanoma it is malignant." During an interview with Mike Graham on TalkTV, Chris shared details of how he discovered the abnormal mark and got it checked out. He explained: "The lady who did my massage spotted this mark on my left calf six weeks ago and she said, 'Have you noticed this before?'
Due to his fair skin Chris initially ignored her warning, and only after a second massage during which she recommended he get it checked out, did he go to the doctor. He continued: "The next Friday I went back and she said, 'What did they say about the freckle?' I said I didn’t go and she gave me this different look, more maternal look.
