Patrick Kielty spoke to Chris Evans on Wednesday to promote his new movie, Ballywalter
UK radio star Chris Evans has called for The Late Late Show to air in the UK – as host Patrick Kielty admitted he thought he was going to be a guest on the show next week.But he is also busy promoting his new movie, Ballywalter, which is out this Friday in cinemas. “Because you’ve been on the show and you know what it is like. There is a different atmosphere, people talk to people in a different way. “I remember years and years ago being in LA, taking meetings and trying to get stuff going and ending up in a room – God love this man – he took this meeting and it was Bob Morton who was David Letterman’s producer and I went in and he saw my reel.
“I had just walked out of a dinner. I was in central London and I came out onto the street and I got his phone call and I recognised the number. He said when he arrived home, he told his wife Cat Deeley, who said: “But you probably thought they were going to ring. She knew in her head, she knew the man has got the skillset to do this but he clearly hasn’t got the brain to work out the call might be coming in.”
