More than 300 of the £1 meals have been sold in less than a month
A chip shop offering a £1 children’s meal helping families through the summer holidays say hundreds of young people have taken up the offer so far.
"It's mad. We never expected the take-up to be so crazy. This is an area with a higher than average amount of families whose little ones receive free school meals. The Penygroes chip shop was named as one of the best takeaways in its area last year and has done similar community efforts in the past, including handing out free soup last winter.
