Paris Saint-Germain are willing to depart with Chelsea target Presnel Kimpembe for £60million, according to reports.
A left-footed centre-half is on the agenda and the Blues have also been linked with RB Leipzig’s Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol.
The Premier League club need defensive reinforcements after Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger left following the expiry of their contracts.As per Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea submitted an offer to Sevilla earlier this week. Barcelona are also keen and are believed to be the player’s preferred destination.
Romano adds that the Blues have done ‘everything’ they can after sending official offers to Sevilla and Kounde and have now been waiting for the ‘final green light’ for three days. And according to Gerard Romero, Barca winger and Kounde’s France teammate, Ousmane Dembele, has played a key role in persuading the 23-year-old to move to the Nou Camp.
The Blaugrana were able to reach an agreement with Sevilla after pulling another financial ‘lever’ in order to meet their La Liga rivals’ asking price.
