Chelsea set to redevelop Stamford Bridge after being given green light to buy surrounding houses CFC

Chelsea look set to redevelop Stamford Bridge after they were given the green light to buy the houses from military veterans.

The Blues have struck a deal with charity 'Stoll' to purchase the properties close to their iconic ground in west London.Such deal is part of a planned £2billion expansion of their current 40,341-capacity home. Despite the move being subject to resident consultation, the club will buy the Sir Oswald Stoll Mansions site at the back of Stamford Bridge.

It is believed 50 current properties would remain, with new homes including better facilities being built. The final decision could take up to nine weeks, however, with autumn likely to see the final outcome.
