'Loving and kind' Blackpool charity worker took his own life after his mum discovered he was taking money form her account
A 'loving, kind and generous' charity worker took his own life after his mum discovered he had been stealing from her.
An inquest held yesterday at Blackpool Town Hall heard that the 33-year-old, who had Asperger's, had completed a degree at Edge Hill University and was a highly talented web systems and computer expert. Sam was a trustee for Blackpool Tiggers, a charity which provides sports, leisure and social activities for children and young people on the autistic spectrum.
"On December 26 last year he had been asked by his mother to review her bank accounts on the computer as someone had accessed them and taken money from them. He returned to his mother's room about 45 minutes later, threw the house phone on the bed and asked her to phone the police. Toxicology tests revealed that, even separately, the levels of medication in his system were those encountered in fatalities but the combination of the two increased the likelihood of death.
