Ms Fulani previously said Lady Hussey’s repeated questions about where she was from after she explained she was a British national was aShe said the royal aide had touched her hair and moved it aside to see her name badge, and questioned her “about seven or eight times” about where she came from, including asking “where do you really come from, where do your people come from?”.
After stressing that she was a British national and that her parents came to the UK in the 1950s, Ms Fulani claimed that Lady Susan then replied: “Oh, so I knew we’d get there in the end, you’re Caribbean.”Prince William’s office said in a statement that “racism has no place in our society”, saying it was right the individual stepped aside with immediate effect.
“Incidents like this not only cause emotional harm to those involved but do also have wider repercussions within the community. “I have experienced first-hand what happens when a black woman faces adversity and has to overcome additional barriers when trying to report it.”
