The victim suffered serious head injuries
Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to after a victim was attacked by a stranger. Greater Manchester Police says a man in his 20s suffered serious head injuries.
The force has released a CCTV appeal today following the attack, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, June 18. It is believed the victim was assaulted by an unknown man at around 3.30am on Wallgate, in Wigan. He was taken to hospital for medical treatment. A GMP spokesperson said: "Officers investigating this incident have followed up on a number of lines of enquiry and are now in a position to ask for the public's assistance."GMP would like to speak to the man pictured as they believe he could assist with enquires. Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time or who may have witnessed the incident.
Anyone who recognises the man, or has information about the incident, is asked to call 0161 856 7094 quoting incident log 658 of June 18, 2023. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
