The former Coronation Street actor hired NVERLND, an events business, to organise and put on her bash. But the 39-year-old was left sheepish when a bakery claimed they had suggested payment 'in the form of promotion'.The actress told fans she had faced horrendous trolling online and insisted she always supported small businesses. But sources say Catherine has now quietly scrapped the bash.
Cakegate kicked off last month when Rebecca Severs, owner of the Three Little Birds bakery in Keighley, West Yorkshire, received a request for two bespoke cakes and 100 cupcakes. She was told there would be no cash payment for her goods but as it was for a, 'well-known celebrity', she would be rewarded in publicity.
