Inspectors found four breaches of regulations during their visit to Rathmore Care Home in Lytham, with residents bathed one a week
Elderly people living at a Lytham care home were told they can only have one bath a week while one resident was left in bed for 14 hours without even a toilet break due to staffing issues.
The CQC report states: "Staffing levels impacted people's dignity. One person required two staff to assist them to mobilise. This meant from 6pm until 8am the following day, they spent their time in bed, as there were not enough staff on duty to support them safely."This included with their continence needs. We received feedback that told us people were allocated a certain day of the week for bathing.
Due to under-staffing, which the CQC found was a breach of the regulations, residents had not been on any outings "for a long time". Staff said they tried to offer activities such as chair exercises and drawing "if they had time".
