Campsite co-owner Mike Harris said the car was travelling at ’80 or 90mph in a 30mph zone’
, injuring nine people, including a baby in a cot, was travelling at “up the three times the speed limit,” it has been claimed.
A blue Ford Fiesta carrying several passengers left the road outside Newgale campsite, Pembrokeshire shortly after 10.30pm on Saturday. The car ploughed into a ditch before rolling over a tent containing the youngster and a group of people.Mike Harris, who runs the campsite with his wife Clare, toldthe car “catapulted from the road” because it was travelling at ”80 or 90mph in a 30mph zone”.“It turned three full turns and landed on its wheels. It rolled through a tent belonging to a family.He also told how the baby is uninjured and believes this is because it was “in a cot,” adding: “Miraculously there was no fatalities.
Mrs Harris added: “The car was speeding down the hill, realised it needed to slow down and tried to brake. It flipped and rolled several times, and crashed into the tent.
