It's also important to note that simply ignoring the problem could land you a £100 fine and three points on your licence due to the frost obscuring your vision while driving. Fortunately, cold weather experts Lotus Car Rental have revealed their clever and somewhat strange hack for keeping your windscreen from ever freezing again, the Mirror reports.
All you need is a cheap and readily available commodity in all supermarkets - the glorious onion. According to the experts, onions can break down frost as soon as it forms on the windscreen. The experts explain that vinegar is a common ingredient in "a de-icer because its freezing point is much lower than water's, meaning the water doesn't have the chance to settle and freeze on top of the vinegar". However, if the idea of rubbing vegetable all over your vehicle isn't for you, there are some other tips and tricks you could try.
