Targeted by cruel vandals
A Lancashire canoe and kayak club has claimed it is the victim of arson after all of their club kit was set on fire in their shed.
It states that all of the club kit has been destroyed, including around £50,000 worth of equipment that has been collected over many years. It also states: "This is a devastating event for the club which has now lost ALL of its loan out kit and may cease to exist all because of someone’s stupidity and downright selfishness."
Euxton Canoe Club welcomes members of all ages and abilities and is currently standing at around 100 members. They introduce hundreds of people every year from the surrounding area, bringing the joy and sport of kayaking and canoes to interested parties on a non-profit basis. The note was written by Lottie who is part of the club and dreams to be a Paralympic Canoeist when she is "bigger." It also reads: "The canoe club has helped me get stronger in my body and I have even made best friends." Since the attack, the club have set up a Crowdfunder page in order to raise money to replace the fire-stricken equipment.
