A £1,000 reward is on offer to help find those responsible

A cannabis farm with drugs growing on almost every bit of floorspace was uncovered at a property in West Lancashire.

The area's neighbourhood policing team kicked the doors down on a property in the village of Simonswood today and uncovered the huge haul. Video shared from the address showed hundreds of plants being grown across multiple rooms of the buildings. Rigged electrics had also been set up and police estimate the growth to be worth "several hundreds of thousands of pounds".

Police said that arrests have been made in connection with the cannabis farm but the hunt is on for others involved. A public appeal has been launched with a potential £1,000 reward on offer.A spokesperson said: "We continue to target the individuals and gangs involved in serious and organised crime due to the very real threat it poses to our communities. Nobody knows their local community better than the people who live there.

"If you have any suspicions at all you can contact police on 101 or if see a crime in progress or you are worried someone is in danger, call 999. You can also speak to Crimestoppers anonymously and if your information leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a reward of up to £1,000. "Your information can really help. It might not seem important, but the smallest piece of information could make a big difference. If you see anything suspicious, please tell us and help to keep Lancashire safe"
