Our thoughts are with their loved ones

The cause of a fatal fire in Kirkby in Ashfield has been ruled as accidental. On Monday, November 14, an inquest into Paul and Jayne Foster came to a conclusion, with Gordon Clow, assistant coroner for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, concluding the fire was caused by accidental ignition from a candle.

"Some minutes later the door to the bedroom fell outwards as a result of the build-up of fire and super-heated smoke. That smoke then engulfed the property within seconds, overcoming Mr and Mrs Foster who were in the kitchen at the other end of their small property. "I’d like to report my thanks to the brave young person who made the initial 999 call. He should be commended for his efforts.”

This gorgeous country house wedding venue in Yorkshire is Instagram perfectThis gorgeous country house wedding venue in Yorkshire is Instagram perfectThe first recorded marriage ceremonies are said to have been in Mesopotamia, what is now known as the Middle East, around 4,355 years ago in 2350 BC. They were clearly onto something as weddings have been embraced the world over, though the survival of marriage within modern day western civilisations is remarkable given that the average wedding costs over £17,000 and the likelihood of divorce is high.At the last count 42 per cent of married couples split up sooner or later. Love, romance and tradition are the powerful forces that lead couples to say “I do” and fairytale-style weddings are now big business, due in part to the pressure of ensuring everything is Instagram perfect. The latest trend is to hire a country house where you can stage the wedding, the meal and the evening celebration and where the happy couple and their guests can stay overnight or longer.
