The Cities: Skylines 2 devs have debunked the theory that high-poly teeth are causing performance issues.
Colossal Order, the Cities: Skylines 2 devs, have recently released a statement that the game’s performance issues are not caused by teeth. Apparently, various publications had been reporting that the reason for CS2’s performance issues was due to the “high-poly teeth.” Paradox have refuted this, stating that “Citizen lifepath feature does not tie to citizen geometry and does not affect the performance figures of the characters.
Characters feature a lot of details that, while seemingly unnecessary now, will become relevant in the future of the project.“ Their statement addressed “a quick update on Cities: Skylines 2 as there is a bizarre story doing the rounds that the documented performance issues are due to the game trying to render every citizen’s teeth,” and was sent to VideoGamer via email.
