Microsoft is dead set on keeping Call Of Duty on other platforms, but can the same be said for other Activision franchises?
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – don’t worry PlayStation owners, you have nothing to worry about… for the next 10 years at least Throughout the entire Microsoft/Activision Blizzard saga, the Xbox company has sworn that it has no intention of making Call Of Duty a platform exclusive, going as far to make deals with Sony, Nintendo, and all manner of streaming services to keep the franchise multiplatform.
After all, the multiplatform deal will only last 10 years and there’s no guarantee Microsoft will renew it afterwards. Had it tried to make Call Of Duty exclusive from the get-go, it certainly would have made getting approval from regulators all but impossible, given the franchise’s worldwide popularity. ‘We have no goal of somehow using Call of Duty to get you to buy an Xbox console,’ said Spencer.
