Police were relieved to confirm the missing three-year-old had been found 'safe and well'

Officers issued an appeal earlier today to locate Simon Cooney, 35, and his daughter Autumn. It followed an incident of assault which happened inside a car in the area of Kingscote Park, Blackpool, at around 4am on Monday, August 28.

During the incident, a woman was punched to the face and had her hand bitten, before she left the car. Lancashire Police said Autumn remained in the car and officers were "extremely concerned for her welfare".A statement from police has now confirmed Autumn has been found "safe and well" outside her home address in Blackpool. Inspector Jon Campbell Smith said: "As always we are grateful to members of the public who phoned us with information or shared our appeal for us.

“We are also incredibly relieved that Autumn has since turned up outside her home address and is safe and well." However, officers confirmed Cooney, from Preston, remains wanted in relation to assault and urged people to report any sightings to the police. A statement added :"We still want to locate Simon Cooney as part of our enquiries into an assault this morning and are asking anyone who knows where he is, or who has seen him, not to approach him but to call us straight away.”

He is described as white, approximately 6ft tall, of slim build, with a shaven head and a beard. He has links to both Blackpool and Preston. Anybody with information should call 101, quoting log 211 of August 28th. For immediate sightings please call 999.
