The owner of a long-established café has shared how they manage to keep their prices accessible to customers
The owner of a long-established cafe in Nottingham which serves breakfast for just under £5 has shared how they manage to keep their prices accessible to customers. Caroline White, 62, opened The Avenues in Sneinton 25 years ago - and has been at the helm serving customers ever since.
She vowed to always "put the customers first" - despite the rising costs which also affected the hospitality industry. A small breakfast, which includes coffee, tea or a glass of juice costs £4.95. Customers can upgrade to a large breakfast which is £6.50.The menu also includes vegan and vegetarian options. "I have seen the Sneinton Market change before my eyes. We have seen everything", she added.
"You actually see a range of people who come down here for breakfast or lunch. You get the builders in the morning, and then later on, you see a judge coming here for lunch. It is a nice atmosphere, it is for everybody." "I think that is important when you see how the industry is being affected. But, our bills have quadrupled so we might have to make changes too.
