'Obviously a big lorry, truck, or something like that has gone past and hit it, and the roof has come off'

The bus stop is located on Liverpool Road South, opposite Lily Wharf Lodge. Burscough Town Council were alerted to the incident on November 17 at 2.45pm which left the bus shelter crushed and its roof sent flying into a nearby garden.

READ MORE: West Lancs MP Rosie Cooper told to 'leave now' after announcing resignation seven weeks ago "This is the second time the bus shelter has been demolished in recent years. The last time was cause by a large haulage truck. If nobody comes forward, the money to repair it will have to be paid out of the town council's budget. That's £3,500 for the bus shelter, and for the debris to be removed and road made safe is another £350.
