Kirkcudbright's Ian McIntyre masterminded the 2022 event and expects more than 100 people from across the world to attend
The Robert Burns World Federation is to stage its annual conference in Dumfries for the second year running – thanks in part to its Kirkcudbright-based conference director.
Now it’s returning – and Mr McIntyre is expecting more than 100 people from across the world for next week’s jamboree, which he described as “a major coup” for Dumfries and Galloway. “Among those will be Paul Kennedy, the president of New Jersey Celtic Society and new member of the RBWF, and members of Calgary and Winnipeg Burns clubs.”
But in the end prohibitive costs proved decisive and following positive reviews from delegates attending last year’s festivities, Dumfries got the nod.
