What we know so far
Fire crews are continuing to battle a large scale fire in Chorley that broke out in the early hours of this morning.
When crews arrived they found a large amount of landfill waste well alight. Since then, they have been using jets to extinguish the fire and currently remain on scene. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has said that the fire is causing a large smoke plume, which is affecting residential properties nearby. Residents nearby are being advised to close all doors and windows.
