The details of Myles Garrett's car accident remain a blur to him. It could’ve ended in tragedy. 'Definitely grateful to be (alive) with what I saw right after, the pictures,” Garrett said. “It was a hell of an event.'
’s traumatic week. His strained shoulder and biceps are quickly feeling better every day. He has lacerations, too, but the hooded sweatshirt and pants covered them Friday while Garrett addressed reporters for the first time since rolling his Porsche several times Monday in a one-car accident.
“Definitely grateful to be with what I saw right after, the pictures,” Garrett said. “It was a hell of an event.”Garrett has a history of going fast, both on and off the field. WKYC-TV reported this week he has piled up six speeding tickets since 2017, including a 24-hour period last September when he was ticketed twice on consecutive days for driving over 100 mph.
Garrett was cited this week for failure to control his vehicle and driving too fast. Police estimate he was driving 65 mph in a 45 mph zone at the time of the accident. “I don’t think it takes something as drastic as this to tell me I need to slow down,” Garrett said. “This is definitely a call to me to be safer with my driving, pay attention to my speed and my surroundings.”
The details of the accident remain a blur to him. He believes he saw an animal entering the road from the right so he swerved. Then there was a car coming in the opposite direction. As for Sunday, Garrett is listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision.
