A British volunteer who delivered arms and supplies to frontline troops in Ukraine died last month. The unnamed Briton, from the Liverpool area, travelled to the war zone last April shortly after Russia‘s invasion Joe Duggan reports:
“He would run supplies all over the country. He wasn’t a fighter; he was like a logistics supply sergeant.
“Any time we captured equipment, we just paint it up and turn it right back round. Anytime he was with somebody and one of their trucks broke, he was the guy to call.“We don’t really go by real names out there. It’s all just call signs. He was a good friend of mine.” “He would be going right up to the red zone. It’s super dangerous. It took a lot of bravery. There’s always missiles and rockets flying overhead. When you’re on the front, there’s mortars, you are being shot at constantly.
