Passengers can use their tickets on some bus services
Passengers are warned to expect disruption on Metrolink services after a tree fell onto a Greater Manchester tramline. Services on the Rochdale via Oldham line are currently part-suspended.
Services on the line are currently running between Rochdale town centre and Westwood, in Oldham. There are also trams running between East Didsbury and Newton Heath and Moston, through Manchester city centre. It means the Failsworth, Hollinwood, South Chadderton and Freehold stops are currently out of service. Metrolink tickets are currently being accepted on a number of local bus services.A spokesperson for Manchester Metrolink wrote on Twitter: "Due to a fallen tree blocking the track, the Rochdale via Oldham line is currently part suspended.
"Services will operate Rochdale Town Centre to Westwood and East Didsbury to Newton Heath and Moston. Ticket acceptance is in place on 81, 83, 84, 181 & 182 bus services." An expected time for services to fully resume on the Metrolink line has not been announced. Transport for Greater Manchester has been approached for further comment.
