Officers have swooped on a quiet estate in Greater Manchester amid unconfirmed reports of a 'firearms discharge'. Emergency services have cordoned off part of Overdale, in Swinton.that armed police have blocked off a section of the road, with people unable to pass.
There are also reports that a police helicopter was also flying overhead following the incident tonight.The Manchester Evening News understands there are reports of a shooting but we are awaiting clarification from Greater Manchester Police, who have been approached for more details.
