Suella Braverman arrives in Downing Street to attend the weekly cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Liz Truss Ministers are pushing ahead with plans to clamp down on protestors as the Home Secretary vows she will not bend to “hideously selfish” activists who are “attempting to hold the British public to ransom”.is set to return to Parliament next week with a new amendment that will boost the power of ministers to serve protestors with injunctions.
A number of new criminal offences will be created under the Bill, meaning protestors could be sent to prison for activities such as locking onto objects or tunnelling to cause major disruption.
