The youngster was rushed to hospital after suffering a high voltage electric shock in the reception of Tiffany's Hotel but sadly died four days later

A 10-year-old boy who was electrocuted at a Blackpool hotel has been named. Jack Piper-Sheach, from Wales, died after suffering a "high voltage" shock in the reception area of the hotel.

After initial enquiries, the Lancashire Police handed their investigation into the incident to Blackpool Council. And the local authority advised the Tiffany’s Hotel to temporarily close while it undertakes health and safety investigations, reports The Mirror. Emergency services were called out at about 10.40pm on Sunday, September 3 following the incident in the reception area of the hotel. Lancashire Police said that the boy was not responding when the 999 call was made and his injuries suggest a "high voltage" of electricity was involved.
