Former model Helena Abrahams says she didn't have a penny to her name
Wincing in pain, Helena Abrahams reached for her favourite piece of jewellery and gently placed it inside a box.
“I had no future,” she told the Manchester Evening News. “I couldn’t imagine spending the rest of my life trapped indoors. Helena started experiencing disc problems when she was in her 30s. Before then, she had built a successful career as a model and TV extra, even appearing in ITV’s Band of Gold in the 90s.
The surgeon helped remove the broken metal inside her body in a bid to ease some of Helena’s suffering. While Helena still lives with pain, she has now been able to regain some normalcy in her life.
