Police are treating the incident as a hate crime
A woman has been struck in the face during an alleged assault in Botanic Gardens in Belfast on Friday afternoon.One man has been arrested by detectives, who are treating the assault as a hate crime.PSNI Sergeant Brown said: "It was reported just after 4.30pm that a woman was struck in the face by a man. There have been no reports of any serious injuries at this time.
"One man, aged in his forties, was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences and remains in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries.
