Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed he will resign.
It comes after days of chaos that saw the support of his ministers and MPs collapse. More than 50 government ministers resigned in the wake of his latest scandal as leader of the country.

In a series of tweets, she said: "There will be a widespread sense of relief that the chaos of the last few days will come to an end, though notion of Boris Johnson staying on as PM until autumn seems far from ideal, and surely not sustainable?
