A welcome statement
Boots will build hundreds of new homes next to its Nottinghamshire headquarters despite the site's construction company falling into administration, the company has said. to build 604 homes near its Thane Road base.
Nottinghamshire's largest company has remained silent on the project's future since then, but has now clarified its position - promising the homes will be built. A Boots spokesperson said: “We remain committed to developing the site, which already has planning permission in place for homes and commercial space.”The approved outline plans will see 207 homes constructed within Nottingham City Council's jurisdiction, with a further 397 in Broxtowe Borough Council's area.
"The housing market around Boots is a very strong area, so obviously we are looking for a successful outcome. Our council officers and members will support the project in any way we can to ensure it goes ahead - it might be delayed slightly but we are committed to ensuring its success."
