The odds of a White Christmas in 2022 have been slashed from 2/1 to 4/5 by Coral
The chances of a first White Christmas in the UK are now more likely, experts say, as bookmakers slash their odds.
LancsLive reported earlier this month how some long range weather predictions suggest we could be in for the ultimate festive snow day this year while experts at OLBG have slashed their odds to reveal that there’s a 55 per cent chance. The Met Office defines a White Christmas by one snowflake falling in the 24 hours of Christmas Day.The lowest daily temperature recorded in October was back in 1948 in the Scottish village of Dalwhinnie, where the Met Office reports temperatures dropped to -11.
And bookmakers make it 2/1 that this October is the coldest that we see on record with a 33% chance of it happening according to the odds. A chilly wave seems to be hitting the UK this week and the chances of snow falling seem to be getting more and more likely.October 25 to November 3 Showers will continue into Wednesday with accompanying longer spells of rain likely across much of the UK, locally heavy. The heaviest rain will occur in the west with drier overall conditions in the east.
