Body found in search for missing teen who vanished after getting into river
A BODY has been found in the search for a teen who vanished after entering a river.
Liam Buchan, from Dundee, was with family and friends near the River Esk in Edzell, Angus, when he got into difficulty on July 15.A multi-agency search operation was launched to trace LiamCops have now confirmed a body has been recovered in the search for the missing 15-year-old.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.30am on Monday, 24 July, a body was recovered from the River North Esk, near Edzell.
"Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of Liam Buchan, 15, reported missing from the area, has been informed. "There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course." A multi-agency response from Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue, the Scottish Ambulance Service and HM Coastguard was launched in a desperate bid to trace the teen.But despite extensive efforts, the rescue was unsuccessful due to the challenging conditions.
